Learner Profile
“The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.”
-Making the Primary Years Programme Happen: A Framework for International Primary Education, page 4
IB learners strive to be:
- Inquirers
- Knowledgeable
- Thinkers
- Communicators
- Principled
- Open-minded
- Caring
- Risk-taker
- Balanced
- Reflective
All IB Primary Years Programme schools must report on students’ development in relation to the attributes of the Learner Profile. The staff at Coyote Ridge created a Learner Profile Reflection form to comply with this requirement. This is a student self-reflection about the extent to which the student displays the Learner Profile. All students at Coyote Ridge will reflect on the Learner Profile at the end of every reporting period. The Learner Profile Reflection is sent home with your child’s report card. Teachers also place a copy of the Learner Profile Reflection in your student’s portfolio.
